A fabulous pair of Suffragette drop earrings from the early 1900s featuring two bright, cultured pearl drops suspended from long chains with an additional pearl in the centre and a shamrock-shaped top bezel set with two peridots and an amethyst (approx. 0.50ct each).

Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”

The pair is fashioned in 9ct gold with slender hooks at the back. They’re very eye-catching and look gorgeous dangling from each ear.
