A grand antique Edwardian ring from the early 1900s depicting a belt and buckle modelled in 18ct gold with ivy patterning engraved around the outside of the band.

Belt and Buckle motifs were a popular romantic token as their infinite loop and secure buckle symbolised eternal love and commitment. Similarly, ivy represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.

It’s in excellent condition and has a smooth, shiny surface and clear Birmingham hallmarks within, dating it to 1909.
