A splendid antique Georgian paste eternity bangle, beautifully preserved from the early 19th Century. The smooth bangle is modelled in silver and ringed with an unbroken halo of chunky old cushion cut paste stones, that have been foil-backed to increase their sparkle.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that has been used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.
This is a grand and exquisitely made Georgian bangle, with a beautiful ring of old paste stones that symbolise eternal love. It’s in excellent condition and held by a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side.
