A regal antique Victorian statement ring adorned with a large oval cut amethyst in the centre, weighing approx. 6 carats. It has a soft violet hue and is complemented beautifully by a halo of creamy seed pearls.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The piece dates to the late 19th Century and is fashioned in 9ct gold which has developed a lovely rosy hue and patina over time. A glorious statement piece that is sure to leave an impression.
