A beautiful antique checkerboard ring from the mid-Victorian era decorated with two rows of sky-blue turquoise and bright natural pearls in a fabulous, alternating pattern.
Turquoise is considered a stone of good fortune and pearls a stone of purity. They were a popular combination in the Victorian era with the soft colours complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.
The piece is modelled entirely in 18ct gold and exhibits a wonderful collection of gems that contrast and complement each other beautifully.
