A beautiful antique Victorian pendant from the late 1800s featuring a crescent moon with a dropper below and pendulum swinging in the centre, all decorated with calming blue turquoise.

Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.

The pendant is fashioned in silver and bears a “silver gilt” mark at the back, indicating it was once gilded in gold but has since been removed. It’s a wonderful design and accompanied by a new sterling silver chain to hang it on.
