Garnet - The January Birthstone

The deep red colour of the garnet has made it a consistently popular gemstone. The Victorians were particularly enamoured of the stone, often pairing it's dark crimson with the contrast of sparkling diamonds in some truly beautiful pieces of antique jewellery.
