A spectacular mid 20th Century collar made in London in 1956. The extravagant piece is made up of ornate, open-work sterling silver links and droppers decorated with glistening pastes and three beautiful, red guilloche enamel domes topped with further pastes.

Guilloche enamel dates to the 17th century and became increasingly popular in the Victorian era. The process involves metal carefully worked by a lathe, or “Rose Machine” into a decorative pattern and overlaid with a colourful enamel to create a striking and highly detailed work of art.

The piece has remained in excellent condition and is fully hallmarked on the back. It’s fitted with a hook clasp and safety chain which holds it securely around the neck.
