A beautiful antique Victorian crescent moon pendant lined with eleven chunky old cut paste stones which have been foil backed, giving them a brighter sparkle with subtle golden flashes.

Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.

The piece is modelled in silver and fitted with a gold loop at the top. It’s very pretty and would look perfect on the end of a silver chain.
