A grand antique opal ring made in Birmingham by William Griffiths & Sons in 1918. It showcases five natural opal cabochons weighing approx. 0.20 – 0.70ct (approx. 2.1ct total), all displaying a vibrant medley of swirling colours.

Opal is the birthstone of October. Their magic has been revered throughout history, desired for their enchanting rainbow of vibrant colours that shimmer and intensify with the light. Ethereal greens, pinks and blues flow and dance across the surface of the stone, evoking the beauty of planet earth or the aurora borealis, with a burning orange sunset glowing behind.

The robust gallery is modelled in solid 18ct gold and has a lovely weight to it. It flares the stones out beautifully across the top of the finger and is complete with Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s mark within the band.
