An exquisite Antique Georgian guard chain from the early 19th Century made up of long, faceted Cut Steel links and spheres.
It’s complete with a newer claw clasp at the end of a long drop of chain and was most likely used to attach a pocket watch or a cylinder of fur known as a Muff to keep the wearers hands warm in winter.
It’s remained in excellent condition and can be worn as one long chain or looped twice around the neck.
