A fabulous pair of antique Victorian coral drop earrings exhibiting two long, natural coral droppers suspended from 18ct gold hooks. The coral is smooth and polished and has lovely natural texturing and a soft salmon pink/ orange hue.
Coral is produced naturally in the depths of the ocean over thousands of years by tiny marine invertebrate known as polyp. It has long been worn as a protective talisman and exhibits fiery shades of pink, orange and red, making them a colourful alternative to other ocean treasures such as pearls.
They’re a fabulous pair of Victorian earrings, dating to the late 19th Century which have both remained in pristine condition.
