An exquisite antique French cross pendant decorated with an array of blue and green turquoise with a central flower, ringed with natural seed pearl petals. It’s fashioned in silver with scrolling, cannetille metalwork around the outside, edged with milgrain.
Turquoise is considered a stone of everlasting love and pearls a stone of loyalty. They were a popular combination in the Victorian era with their soft colours complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.
The piece dates to the mid-19th Century and has remained in excellent condition. It’s a wonderful antique treasure and complete with a French silver boar mark at the bale.
