A striking antique Victorian amethyst pearl cluster ring, built around a regal square cut amethyst with a deep violet hue (approx. 1.8ct). The principal stone is set in a square, milgrain bezel mount, with a frame of bright seed pearls around the border.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The antique ring is modelled in 18ct gold throughout and features split shoulders and pierced workmanship around the sides. It dates to the late 19th Century and displays a lovely collection of gems that contrast and complement each other beautifully.
