A grand vintage signet ring, modelled in 9ct yellow gold and inlaid with a wonderful moss agate seal at the front, displaying natural, mossy roots and orange blots beneath its transparent surface.
Moss Agates are a distinct form of Chalcedony, characterised by a naturally formed web of green veins that spread out beneath the stones transparent surface, resembling a natural, growing moss. They’ve been prized throughout the ages as a stone of growth and new beginnings, providing healing and protection to those who wear it.
The gold band has developed a lovely smoothness and patina with age and widens at the shoulders around the agate centrepiece. It’s a striking signet ring and is stamped with hallmarks and the maker’s mark (E.W.N.) within the band, indicating it was made in Birmingham by “Eric Wallace Nicholls” in 1965.
