A fabulous pair of antique Victorian moonstone drop earrings, adorned with a cluster of seven cabochon moonstones swinging from the bottom, depicting a flower, with three more set above. They have a semi-transparent appearance and a bright silvery-blue glow that intensifies with the light. The stones weigh between 1 - 1.5ct and are all claw set in silver frames, with butterfly studs at the back.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
These are an eye-catching pair of antique Victorian earrings, both in excellent condition, with a beautiful collection of enchanting moonstones on display.
