A marvellous 1970s cocktail ring with a large gallery crowned with a colourful natural opal on top (approx. 0.70ct), ringed by open-work petals and a halo of sixteen cherry-pink rubies around the border (approx. 1.6ct total).
Ruby has been a favourite of kings and emperors throughout history and is considered a stone of the heart. Its fiery pink/ red hue is symbolic of passion and said to bring good fortune in love and provide long lasting happiness and vitality to any relationship.
The robust gallery is all 9ct gold with ornate, open metalwork around the edges and clear London hallmarks within the band, dating it to 1979.
It’s a magnificent statement piece boasting a gorgeous collection of precious gems that sit high and proud atop the finger.
