A pretty antique Victorian pendant with a flowing Art Nouveau design featuring two foliate motifs that scroll to form a heart around a central pink assher cut tourmaline. The stone has a soft, feminine pink hue and is accompanied by a second pink tourmaline dropper and an array of creamy, white natural pearls.
Pink Tourmaline ranges from vibrant pink to fiery red and like a ruby is considered a stone of the heart. A symbol of femininity, joy and romance, it is popularly gifted as a token of unconditional love and friendship.
The open-work gallery is fashioned skilfully in 9ct gold and is fitted with a loop and a pin at the back so it can be worn as either a pendant or a brooch. It dates to the late 19th Century and has remined in pristine condition.
