A fabulous antique Edwardian suite comprising of a buckle, three shirt studs and a brooch fashioned in sterling silver and the pin in 15ct gold. They’re all decorated with intricate emerald green guilloche enamel artistry with flowing white bands interlacing around the border of the buckle.
Guilloche enamel dates to the 17th century. The process involves metal carefully worked by a lathe, or “Rose Machine” into a decorative pattern and overlaid with a colourful enamel to create a striking and highly detailed work of art.
The buckle is complete with clear Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s initials, indicating it was made by W.E. Patterson & Co in 1911.
It’s rare to find a complete suite in such excellent condition and is even accompanied by its original box with matching emerald green leatherette exterior and a cream velvet interior with exclusive holders for each piece.
