A beautiful antique Victorian amethyst and pearl bangle modelled in 9ct gold. The front gallery consists of three scrolled motifs, lined with natural seed pearls with eight violet amethysts mounted in claw-settings in-between (approx. 1.7ct total).
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The piece dates to the late-19th Century and the slender band is fitted with a box clasp and safety chain at the side to hold it secure.
