A grand antique Victorian cuff bangle modelled in sterling silver with a beautiful display of roses, leaves and forget me nots highlighted in rose, yellow and green gold. It’s further decorated with silver beading around the edges and chased with checkerboard patterning and ivy across the sides.
Forget me nots were a popular motif in the Victorian era and symbolic of eternal love and remembrance. They were often paired with ivy leaves which similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
It’s a wonderful statement piece, held securely by a substantial box clasp at the side with the maker’s mark “W&Co” and Birmingham hallmarks on the inside dating to 1876.
