A marvellous antique French Saint Esprit pendant from the mid 19th Century decorated with an array of clear paste stones that twinkle like diamonds. The silver gallery is a wonderfully ornate design, with scrolling open workmanship and a dove shaped dropper dangling in the centre of a heart.
Saint Esprit translates to the “Holy Ghost” and was a popular symbol in France during the 18th and 19th Century. It depicts a dove in flight, often carrying an olive branch of peace to represent the holy spirit.
It’s remained in excellent condition and is highly collectable piece of history that would look perfect on the end of a silver chain.
