A grand antique Victorian signet ring bezel set with a large cabochon garnet weighing approx. 6ct. It’s lovely and smooth with flashes of pink and red beneath the surface. It contrasts beautifully against a solid 18ct gold gallery with a closed back and thick band that curves at the shoulders.
Garnet is the birthstone of January and has been desired throughout history for its strength and blazing red flame which glows beneath its dark exterior. It’s long been considered a stone of the heart and symbolic of passion and enduring love.
It’s a regal statement ring and complete with hallmarks within the band indicating it was made in Birmingham in 1874.
