A sweet, little antique Victorian heart pendant from the late 1800s fashioned in 9ct gold and crowned with a deep blue iolite in a gypsy star setting.

Iolite derives its name from the Greek word “ios”, meaning violet. It’s clear bluish-violet hue has earned it the names “Water Sapphire” and “Vikings compass” as it was worn historically by sailors as a lucky talisman, believed to guide them safely during a long voyage.

It’s developed a lovely smoothness and patina with age and would make a wonderful gift for a loved one that would look perfect on the end of a gold chain or as a bracelet charm.
