A grand antique Victorian cuff bangle depicting a large belt and buckle along the front chased with a detailed ivy leaf pattern. It’s set in sterling silver and held by a large box clasp at the side that fastens securely.
The belt's infinite loop and secure buckle were a popular symbol of eternal love and commitment in the Victorian era. Ivy similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
A classic Victorian statement piece, dating to late 19th Century that has remained in excellent condition over the years.
