This charming Butterfly brooch is decorated in sparkling white Paste Stones with further, coloured Pastes emulating Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds and Citrine's on the wings.

Insect jewellery grew in popularity at the turn of the 20th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country and were often decorated with colourful stones to enhance their beauty and value.

The piece is set in Silver and fitted with a secure pin and catch.  It's a wonderful brooch that adds a hint of colour and sparkle to any outfit.
