A lovely antique Victorian Giardinetti brooch fashioned in sterling silver and engraved with a beautiful flower basket in the centre highlighted in rose and green gold.
Giardinetti is Italian for “Little Gardens”. The jewellery originated in Italy and became a popular love token across Europe in the 18th and 19th Century, depicting a basket or vase decorated with a colourful assortment of flowers.
It’s remained in pristine condition and is complete with the maker’s initials and Birmingham hallmarks on the reverse, dating it to 1888.
