An exquisite antique Victorian cluster ring from the turn of the 20th Century decorated with four white seed pearls, four violet paste stones and a central green paste. It’s crafted in 9ct gold and displays intricate engraving around the outer band with Birmingham hallmarks on the inside.

The ring dates to the year 1900 but the combination of gemstone colours suggest it was perhaps altered overtime and worn in support of the women’s Suffrage movement which took place in the early 1900s and famously used these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”

It’s a wonderful antique find and the stones contrast and complement each other beautifully.
