An exquisite antique Victorian cross pendant, modelled in 18ct yellow gold. The ornate cross is engraved with detailed foliate engraving on both sides and features a smaller cross on the front, made up of sixteen natural sky-blue turquoise.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December and is considered a stone of luck and good fortune. They were popularly matched with crosses and worn as a symbol of faith, hope and protection, with their calming sky-blue colouring reflecting the sky and heavens above.
This wonderful Victorian cross pendant dates to the mid 19th Century and has remained in excellent condition. It’s a rare and collectable antique and would look perfect on the end of a gold chain.
