Dating to the mid 19th Century, these exquisite antique Victorian turquoise drop earrings are a wonderful example of Victorian elegance and craftmanship. Expertly fashioned in 15ct yellow gold, the faceted, teardrop droppers are ornately detailed with scrolling, foliate engraving across the front and feature an engraved pommel at the bottom, hook wires on top and four sky-blue turquoise cabochons stacked along the centre.
Turquoise is the birthstone of December and is considered a stone of luck and good fortune. It was often associated with the forget-me-not in the 19th century due to their similar sky-blue colouring and given as a token of everlasting love and faithfulness.
These striking Victorian turquoise earrings look wonderful framing the face and have developed a lovely smoothness and rich golden patina that only time can bestow. They’re perfect for anyone who adores the historical appeal and timeless beauty of Victorian jewellery and are sure to catch the eye wherever you choose to flaunt them.
