A sweet pair of antique Victorian drop earrings from the mid 19th Century depicting two forget me nots, backed in 15ct gold with fourteen turquoise petals, ranging from blue to green.
Turquoise is considered a stone of good fortune and has long been associated with the forget me not due to the stones matching sky-blue colouring. The flower was a popular motif in the Victorian era and symbolic of undying love and remembrance, making it a popular gift between lovers during long periods of separation.
They’re a pretty pair and have been fitted with new 9ct gold hook wires.
