A fancy vintage Albert chain necklace consisting of interlocking fetter links and knots with a T-bar hanging at the end. It’s all modelled in sterling silver and has been given a bright 18ct yellow gold finish.
Albert chains are named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort and were traditionally worn by gentlemen to secure a pocket watch to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. Today, they are also worn as stylish necklaces; a custom that was started by the wives of soldiers during the first world war who wore the chains as a keepsake in the hope they’d return home safely.
It’s a fabulous Albert chain made up of beautiful links and complete with Sterling stamps and Sheffield hallmarks above the T-bar.
