This cryptic Masonic fob pendant depicts a “ballot ball” which is traditionally used during Masonic voting. It’s fashioned in 9ct gold and detaches from its four-claw holder, opening on hinges to reveal a star, made up of five pyramid-shaped segments, surrounding a five-sided pentagonal pyramid in the centre. Each pyramid is crafted in silver gilt and etched with masonic symbols, including depictions of various flowers and plants, a sun and even a lion.
This is an interesting and highly collectable Masonic pendant, that would have traditionally been worn by members on a watch chain but could also be worn as a pendant or charm. It’s stamped “Made in England” and bears the maker’s mark “JHW”.
