A beautiful antique Art Nouveau pendant adorned with two clear blue aquamarines and an array of creamy, white seed pearls. The central cushion cut stone is mounted in a milgrain bezel setting and weighs approx. 1.5ct, with a 0.60ct pear cut dropper below.
Aquamarine and pearls are considered treasures of the ocean and were a popular combination, with their soft white and blue colouring complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.
The heart-shaped pendant has a fabulous, open-work design with scrolling foliate motifs, fashioned in 15ct gold. It also features fittings at the back so a pin can be added and worn as a brooch.
It’s a wonderful antique treasure and complete with its original box, made by “Elkington & Co Ltd” and features a cream velvet interior and red leatherette exterior with a gold floral border. Both are in excellent condition and date to the late 19th Century.
