An exquisite antique Victorian Bohemian garnet bangle from the late 19th century, pave set with three rows of garnet across the front and two rows the back. The garnets have a deep crimson-red hue and are mostly rose cut, with larger flat-round cut garnets spread out across the centre of the gallery.
Bohemian garnet jewellery is desired for its abundance of rose cut garnets, also known as pyrope crystals. They were originally sourced in the region of Bohemia, which later became the Czech Republic and were highly sought after across Europe in the late 19th Century with their crimson red flame associated with passion and enduring love.
The band is made of a gold composite, known as “garnet gold” and is held securely around the wrist with a box clasp at the side. It’s a grand antique Victorian bangle, decorated with a sumptuous array of natural garnets around the outside.
