An exquisite antique Georgian fob pendant inlaid with a dark-orange carnelian seal that has yet to be engraved. The 18ct gold cased base has beautiful floral patterning engraved across the top and up two fabulous arches that form the loop.
Fob pendants were originally worn alongside a gentleman’s pocket watch and often featured an engraved intaglio seal underneath depicting an image, phrase, or monogram that was significant to the owner and could be stamped into sealing wax on important documents or even love letters to distant sweethearts.
The fob dates to the early 19th Century and has remained in excellent condition. It’s highly collectable and would look wonderful on the end of a gold chain.
