A remarkable antique Scottish cuff bangle from the late Georgian era showcasing a large, banded agate framed in the centre, encircled by eight smaller agates around the outside. The agates are polished and smooth and display marbled layers of black, white, brown and pink that ripple out across the surface.

Agate is a stone of the earth, worn throughout the ages for protection, healing and grounding with many different varieties, all displaying their own distinct colouring and patterned layers that are naturally formed, earning them the appropriate nickname the “Earth rainbow’.

The bangle is crafted expertly in pinchbeck and has been gilded in a bright 18ct yellow gold and fitted with a hook clasp at the back that can be adjusted to three different sizes. It displays ornate workmanship and is embossed with flower, eagle and leaf motifs across the front and around the band.

It’s a grand Georgian statement piece that has remained in excellent condition and showcases a beautiful collection of natural agates.
