Antique Victorian Amethyst Spider Bar Brooch 9ct Gold Circa 1900

A beautiful antique Victorian bar brooch from the turn of the 20th Century modelled in 9ct gold and topped with a wonderful spider set with a 3.5ct amethyst and a single pearl.

Insect and spider jewellery grew in popularity at the turn of the 20^th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country and were often decorated with colourful gemstones to enhance their beauty and value.

It will look wonderful pinned to a lapel and has remained in pristine condition.
