A fabulous antique Art Nouveau pendant from the late-Victorian era adorned with a polished teardrop turquoise bezel set in the centre with a bright mother of pearl dangling from the bottom. The principal stone has a lovely turquoise hue and displays natural black veins known as matrix that are characteristic of the stone.
Turquoise is considered a stone of everlasting love and pearls a stone of loyalty. They were a popular combination in the Victorian era with their soft colours complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.
The gallery is all 15ct gold with open, scroll motifs at the sides. It’s in excellent condition and would look beautiful on the end of a gold chain.
