A sweet antique Victorian opal bar brooch (Circa 1900), featuring a fabulous three-leaf shamrock on top made up of four enchanting natural opal cabochons, radiating a gorgeous rainbow of colours that change and intensify with the light. The largest weigh approx. 1.8ct each (approx. 6ct total) and are accompanied by three twinkling old mine cut diamonds down the stem (approx. 0.18ct total).

Shamrocks have long been associated with luck and good fortune and each leaf represents faith, hope and love. They were also a symbol of Ireland and Saint Patrick who used the image to illustrate the Holy Trinity, one leaf for the Father, one for the Son and one for the Holy Spirit.

The shamrock, bar and pin are all 18ct gold and have remained in pristine condition. It would look perfect pinned to a lapel and boasts a mesmerising collection of vibrant opals.

We recommend you insure for £1,600. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
