This exquisite antique Albert chain is crafted from solid sterling silver curb links, each individually struck with the British lion passant mark of purity. The chain retains its original clasps, bearing the distinguished mark of Frank William Cole, alongside Birmingham hallmarks from 1901 - the same year of King Edward VII’s accession to the throne.

An earlier T-bar, dated 1886, has been thoughtfully added to the end, alongside an 1875 “Young Head” Victorian shilling, perhaps worn as a silver lucky token that pays tribute to the past while heralding the dawn of a new era in British history.

Now, more than a century later, this substantial silver Albert chain displays a beautiful patina and smoothness bestowed by time. A rare collector’s piece, it symbolises a pivotal moment in British history and can be worn proudly once more as a traditional watch chain across a waistcoat, or, thanks to its generous 19.8-inch length, reimagined as a striking statement necklace.
