An exquisite antique Scottish brooch made during the mid Victorian era (Circa 1860). It’s modelled in silver and has a wonderful spiralling design with six colourful agates inlaid around each curved loop.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
It’s a great collector’s piece and a beautiful antique treasure.
