This grand antique Edwardian Albert chain is crafted from substantial sterling silver trombone links, each bearing a British Lion Passant hallmark and richly gilded in a fresh layer of 18ct yellow gold. The chain retains its original dog clips and T-bar drop, both stamped with the prestigious maker’s mark of Henry Pope and Birmingham hallmarks, confirming its creation in 1911, the same year of King George V coronation.
It can still be worn in its traditional manner as a gentleman’s Albert watch chain, but discreet ring-link extensions have also been added to the clasps, extending the length to 15.5 inches, allowing it to sit elegantly along the collarbone as a necklace, ideal for layering with other chains or wearing alone as a bold antique statement piece.
