An elegant antique Edwardian moonstone lavaliere necklace, featuring a long pendulum pendant, consisting of two cabochon moonstones set in 15ct gold milgrain bezel settings, with a slender bar connecting the two. The moonstones are transparent and exhibit a ghostly blue schiller that intensifies with the light. The largest weighs approx. 5ct, with a smaller 1ct stone above.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
This is a fabulous antique Edwardian necklace, adorned with two mystifying moonstones, suspended from a silky 15ct gold curb chain.
