A beautiful antique Edwardian-era sapphire diamond ring, made in Birmingham in 1918. The piece is modelled in 18ct yellow gold, with three old cut electric-blue sapphires set out along the front (approx. 0.40ct total), with four twinkling rose cut diamonds nestled in between.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its deep-blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
This fabulous sapphire ring is all in excellent condition and complete with clear Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s mark (E.J.) within the band. It’s a classic Edwardian design, with a lovely collection of precious gems on top.
