A remarkable antique Georgian bracelet from the late 1700s boasting six magnificent mother of pearls set in gold base metal and haloed by faceted cut-steel studs.
The domed pearls are lovely and smooth and increase in size toward the centre. They have a beautiful lustre and iridescence that shimmers across the stones bumpy surface.
Mother of Pearl, also known as Nacre, is found on the inner shell of molluscs and is desired for its size and enchanting, iridescent shimmer. They have been worn for centuries as a symbol of beauty, femininity, and grace and are believed to soothe emotions and bring peace to one’s mind.
