This grand antique Victorian curb chain bracelet is converted from an old sterling silver Albert Chain and has been cased in a sunny 18ct yellow gold. It consists of chunky, graduated curb links, with a classic T-bar, claw clasp and a Six Pence coin added to the end (Dated 1881), a popular Victorian good luck charm.
Albert chains were both a fashionable and practical accessory for a gentleman in the 19th Century, often adorned with a pocket watch or fob and secured to the buttonhole of a waistcoat for quick access. Today they’re also worn as versatile and stylish necklaces; a custom started by the wives of soldiers during WW1 who wore the chains as a keepsake.
Dating to the late 19th Century, this timeless Victorian Albert chain bracelet has a pleasing weight and bright yellow bloom and is perfect to add some antique charm to your everyday style.
