This grand antique Victorian Albert chain is crafted from solid sterling silver curb links, each bearing a softly faded British Lion Passant hallmark and richly gilded in a fresh layer of 18ct yellow gold vermeil. The chain retains an original dog clip, T-bar drop and an extension of chain at the end, traditionally used to suspend a fob. It’s stamped with the mark of Joseph Sewill and Birmingham hallmarks along the bar, confirming its creation at the turn of the 20th Century.
Solid and weighty, this Victorian Albert Chain can still be worn in its traditional manner as a gentleman’s watch chain, but at 18.5 inches, it will also sit elegantly along the collarbone as a necklace and can be personalised with lockets and charms from the extension.
