A grand antique Victorian statement ring from the late 19th Century showcasing a magnificent oval cut amethyst weighing approx. 8 carats. It displays a luxurious deep violet hue that contrasts beautifully against a 9ct yellow gold gallery and band.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The stone is held securely in a jagged claw mount that resembles a crown with textured detailing around the border and chasing down the split shoulders on either side. It’s a regal statement piece and complete with London hallmarks within the band.
