This exquisite antique Victorian brooch is inlaid with red and blue enamel letters that spell “BABY” with green enamel leaves branching out from each side. It was most likely given to a new mother as a Christening gift and has been commissioned in 15ct gold with a rope edge border.
It’s highly collectable and comes complete with a deep blue velvet brooch box which may be original and bears the maker’s insignia of “Aitchison Brothers” under the lid who were a prominent jewellery manufacturer originating in Scotland who later expanded to operate in London.
